Autumn has well and truly arrived in the UK, and so many of you are coming in looking for warm layers—from woolly scarves and socks to our new jumpers, cardigans and jackets.
We love this season in the studio at NAAiNAAi. Long before the chill arrives, we’re already designing, sampling and making the lovely new layers you’ll wrap up in.
With our first drop now here, we thought we’d share a little more about a few hero pieces and the work that goes into making them.

First up, a newcomer last year but already an absolutely favourite so without doubt has made a comeback this year.
The Loden, named after it's fabric type, a densely woven wool fabric, traditionally made in the Alpine regions. Washed and worked to create a compact surface, it offers warmth, durability and natural resistance to wind and light rain.
We love a boxy shape in our tops, especially as we love our trousers, skirts and dresses to be more generous in proportion and a cut to the waist or just above the hip top creates a flattering shape on all types of body shapes.
Reverse seams give this top a distinctive NAAiNAAi finish; our signature 'contemporary edge meets traditional workwear' style'.
It works so well on any outfit, be it super practical for extra warmth to really elevating a simpler look or adding that unique touch. Find all colour options here.

Next up our Box jumper (or as our Ukranian colleague used to call it "the Jumper box").
Again, it's boxy for exactly the same reasons as above and has a simple button closer at the back. A subtle funnel neck to give that extra bit of wrap in colder weather. This was actually the first design made and sampled in the Butterwalk studio, whilst we we're still renovating the building, up in the very (cold) loft of the building.
We use a beautiful soft boiled wool from Germany which is warm but incredibly breathable and easy to care for.
The hem and cuffs are edged with a slightly contrasting cotton binding which gives that little element of detail.
This season available in navy and light brown, which you can find here.
Next Notebook article will continue on from our Layers section and explore our cottons doing the hard work.
